There are three types mummification.
- The first method of mummification was usually for the richer people in the social class. This type of mummification includes the wrapping of the body. This method had many extra steps to help the mummy get to the afterlife. The persons garments were removed and then they made a small incision into the persons side and removed their internal organs. The brain was discarded. Then they would dehydrate the body. After this they would put jewelry and other things on the mummy's body to send them to the afterlife.
- The second method of mummification was cheaper than the first and did not include the wrapping of the body. Oil was used in this type to help with taking out the internal organs of the mummy.
- The third method of mummification was the cheapest of all three. The main things that were removed in this type of mummification were the stomach and internal organs. Then the body parts were sterilized with ethyl.
